Addressing a session on manufacturing and industry 4.0 at the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit here, Goyal said: “Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said he is scouting for land between Delhi and Jaipur to establish an artificial intelligence city or a city for setting up data centres that support AI.”
According to Goyal, this city could offer working opportunities to professionals or to students graduating from universities in the state. “This city can be given international connectivity through fibre optics,” he said.
Data centres around the world are hungry for green energy, Goyal said, adding: “Rajasthan has ample land availability to ramp up deployment of renewable energy.”
He also said a global AI hub could be established in the state.
Speaking at the session, Rajasthan industries minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said: “The state government remains committed to ensuring that MSMEs are able to effectively utilise the latest technologies such as robotics, AI and cloud computing that will lead to smart manufacturing.”According to Rajasthan rural development secretary Ashutosh AT Pednekar, “Digital transformation has now become a necessity for all manufacturers to remain ahead and survive in the marketplace.”(The reporter is in Jaipur at the invite of the government of Rajasthan)
