Synopsis
History suggests that market recoveries are led by large-cap stocks. But, in the past two years, there have been phases where the rally and recovery have been led by mid-cap stocks. Reason: Big money is now flowing into mid-cap schemes. So, assuming the markets will remain in bullish mode, it would be better to have exposure to stocks from both the mid- and large-cap segments. It will ensure diversification in terms of market cap and, to some extent, sectors. Why? Because there are a number of sectors that only have mid-cap companies. If you want exposure to those sectors, exposure to mid-caps is the only way.
The way the street behaved on Thursday suggests that the bears have been caught on the wrong foot. And that there is a serious attempt by the bulls to take control of the market. Unless there is more trouble in the international markets or any issue at the border, it is very likely that the bulls will take over the markets. So, with the basic assumption that it is good to be bullish, it is time to look at stocks to buy.Past precedent suggests
