The U.S. Government is reporting that sales of new single-family houses in May, 2025 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 623k, which is 13.7% lower than April’s revised rate and is 6.3% higher than one year ago. The median sales price of new houses sold in May was $426,600 with an average sales price of $522,200. There were an estimated 507k new houses for sale at the end of May representing an 9.8-month supply at the current sales rate.
